Awards Program

Description of Awards

The Fathers Making a Difference organization is unique because we not only focus on the father-child relationship; we approach the enactment of understanding a father's role in our challenged society by targeting each aspect of the entire family unit. A father functions better when a mother wholly understands his importance and his role in the home; and when a mother responds appropriately, a father respects her position and his own as well. Children grow, learn, and develop at an alarmingly increased potential when they are comfortable with who they are, where they are from, and when they receive love and support from their foundational roots - from both their parents and extended family.

The Fathers Making a Difference creates these awards not just for people to be seen publicly or for them to be posted on our website, but to motivate other members of our society; to make a difference in the lives of children, family and the community in a positive way; and to create positive role models in the community that one can emulate.

Family Unity

We encourage families to remain united, and/or bridge gaps between broken relationships, not only with a mother and father, but with the entire family (example: partners, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.).

How The Award Recipient Is Chosen

After receiving online nominations, Fathers Making A Difference Board of Directors will narrow down the selections to 1 to 3 nominees depending on how many nominees were received for each award category.

The board will then vote and select a recipient from each award category.

The chosen recipient is then contacted and notified of the award.

Our awards representative will than make arrangements with recipient to receive the award.

A picture will be taken with the recipient and posted on our website for that year until the following award ceremony.

To nominate a recipient for an award, you must fill out the online form and summit it by the end of April each year.

At Fathers Making A Difference, we are partners with you and we cannot affect change in our community unless we work together.
